mpeg MPEG STREAM
   In a CATV environment, a streaming EAS message is utilized for two different applications. This MPEG stream can be created using the optional internal MPEG encoder or by taking the baseband outputs from the R189 One-Net and encoding them with an external encoder.

    Simulcast: Both the RGB SEP48 and the Vecima Cable Vista use the text from the SCTE-18 message and obtain the audio from an EAS MPEG stream.

    All Digital: The streaming EAS MPEG message is used in an all-digital environment to create a virtual channel, carrying the EAS message and to which the STB's are forced tuned during the alert.
